Welcome to bistro and GUESTHOUSE Cachet de Cire

Cachet de Cire – A place with a story.

At Cachet de Cire, you are more than a guest. You become part of a story that began in 1996, when Fee opened this place as a coffeehouse on the Grote Markt in Turnhout. With her warm personality, her eye for detail, and her love of bringing people together, she immediately created an atmosphere where everyone felt welcome.

In 2013 we moved to the Guldensporenlei, where Cachet de Cire grew into a full‑fledged restaurant and a fixture in the city. As early as 1997, the restaurant received its first mention in Gault&Millau (13,5/20) — recognition for the quality and passion that have always been at the heart of our work.

Fee was my partner in life and in the restaurant. Together we built a place where people could feel at home around the table. Her energy, her taste, and her hospitality are still present in every corner of the restaurant. After her sudden passing at the end of 2024, the doors closed for a while. But in August 2025, I reopened the kitchen — with grief, with memory, but also with fire.

Cachet de Cire is not a place you simply pass by. It is a place where people come together, where conversations begin, where flavors connect. A place where memories are made — just as Fee once intended. I invite you to become part of this story. At our table, with us.

PRIVATE DINING

Intimate dining, exclusive enjoyment — Private Dining at Cachet de Cire.

Cachet de Cire opens its doors for special private dinners, where flavors and stories come together around your table. From 8 guests, we welcome you from Sunday through Thursday. For groups of 16 or more, this is also possible on Friday and Saturday.

Chef Greet Verbeeck has developed her own style over the years: faithful to the seasons, always with fresh ingredients, refined yet approachable. Every dish is prepared with respect for the product, where technique and creativity combine to deliver pure flavors.

Private Dining at Cachet de Cire means more than a meal. It is an experience in a warm, personal setting — a place where conversations deepen, where flavors connect, and where memories are created.

We invite you to enjoy an evening centered on togetherness, with dishes crafted with care and passion. Private Dining can follow our Cachet Menu, or we can create a tailor‑made menu that perfectly suits your preferences.

There was a time when the Ladychef menu stood for refinement, intuition, and a shared passion between kitchen and front of house. Together with my partner—whose warm presence and unmistakable flair brought the dining room to life—we formed a duo that gave this restaurant its soul.

Today, the form changes, but not the heart.

With the absence of Fee the rhythm of our service has shifted. That’s why I’ve chosen to retire the Ladychef menu for now.

At this moment, I offer a limited menu, with dishes that are simple, honest, and prepared with care. Each plate remains an invitation to connect, but in a pace that reflects this new chapter.

Thank you for your understanding, your trust, and your presence—they mean more than words can say.
